In 2010 I created a painting based off a photo of a young girl. At the time I wasn't clear on why I needed to paint her... but I did. She has a very different life than I, and looking back I wanted to help tell her story.
Also upon reflection, this is a time in my artwork the focus shifted to story telling more than just interesting imagery.
I was never really happy with the end result of the painting aside from her eyes (which hold her story for me) and have been wanting to adjust it for years.
Over the past few days I have been motivated to make the adjustments, it's a work in progress but feels more meaningful already... Words do not always come easy for me and I wonder if we are all looking for ways to express how we are feeling these days, this is just my way of expressing.
